Film colorization is the technique of adding color to black and white films. Most movies made before the 1950s were black and white because of the limitations of that era's technology. From the mid-20th century onwards, some of these films were remade in color to cater to contemporary audiences, due to the explosion of color film. Colorization services for films today use advanced software and techniques to digitally recreate the colors found in a movie, allowing these older but great pieces to exist in modernity without changing much about the content.
